CCPT 2026 Summary – Event 5- April 8, 2026

Event Summary Tony's Poker Palace - CCPT 2026 - Event 5 - April 8, 2026

Red Hot at the Palace: CCPT Event #5 Delivers a Barn-Burner

If you thought Event 4 was a fluke, think again. The CCPT 2026 season rolled into Tony’s Poker Palace on April 8th, and while the “large crowd” of 8 players kept the seats warm, the night quickly turned into a masterclass by our host.

Between a mountain of misdeals and the chaotic final moments of the “Superpush” rule—which essentially reset the field and let the sharks back in—it was a night of high drama and higher stakes.

The Tony Takeover: Two Weeks of Dominance

Forget the early season struggles; Tony is officially the man to beat. Building on the momentum of his two wins back in Event 4, Tony came into his home turf with a target on his back and didn’t blink.

He put up a season-high 24 points for the night, finishing in the money in 3 out of the 4 games played. The highlight? A ruthless “Double Whammy” where he took 1st place in both Game 2 and Game 3.  With a $100 haul on the night, Tony has surged from the back of the pack to the conversation for the crown.

The Leaderboard: The Gap is Closing

While Joe has occupied the #1 spot since the season began, his throne is starting to wobble. The points race is tightening into a three-way dogfight.

Player Total Points Season Rank Movement
Joe 7,350 1 Holding steady
Tony 7,150 2 UP from 3rd
Luc 7,150 3 DOWN from 2nd
Dan 6,750 4 UP from 5th
Keith 6,400 5 DOWN from 4th

Dan continues his impressive run as the newcomer to watch, quietly climbing to 4th place and keeping his net winnings at a perfect “break-even” $0. Meanwhile, Luc slips to 3rd, setting up a massive revenge narrative for the weeks to come.

Basement Blues & Financial Reality

While Tony is enjoying the view from the top, John had a night he’d likely rather forget. John officially “inherited the basement” for the nightly points, managing only 6 points across the four games.

The year-to-date money list shows who’s been feasting and who’s been fasting:

  • The High Rollers: Luc leads the pack with +$110 net, followed by Tony at +$35.

  • The Grind: Joe stays in the green at +$25.

  • The Deep End: John is looking to recoup a -$40 deficit, while Duane (at -$55) is searching for that one big score to flip the script.

Looking Ahead: The Battle for Joe’s Palace

The energy was incredible this week, and while we missed having the full roster for the late-night push, the 8 players who finished out the evening saw some of the most competitive poker of the year.

The “Superpush” ending proved to be a savior for the field, allowing everyone back in and ultimately paving the way for Tony’s victory. But can he keep the streak alive?

Next Event: April 22nd

Location: Joe’s Poker Palace

Joe will be looking to defend his #1 rank on his own turf, while Luc will be hungry to reclaim the #2 spot he lost to the surging Tony. Grab your chips—it’s going to be a wild one.

Will Luc reclaim his glory, or is Tony’s run just getting started?
