Southside Shake

The venue is in the Hilton Hotel in Fredericton. They have a great covered outside patio that provides a nice comfortable spot to enjoy. The area is heated into the fall to extend the life of the patio. This was a outing with some friends to enjoy some tapas and drinks. I started my selection with 12 beautiful fresh and full oysters. There was a dill pickle theme to the mignonette. Next I tried the Duck Confit Spring Rolls. This dish was middle of the road for me, less flavor than expected. Next on the list was the Bacon Wrapped Scallops, I mean how can you go wrong with this type of dish. Scallops where a little over but other than that a ton of flavor. The Frites were nothing short of amazing, large cut Russett potatoes fried, cut, and flavored to perfection. Would certainly want to try again. I also tried the Chicken Wings, these had a nice flavor, super crispy skin and served with a side sauce. Then it came to desert we had 3 dishes to share. The Gin Glazed Mini Cinnamon Rolls amazing, a must have. Soft packed with flavor and very enjoyable, assuming you like cinnamon! The Deep Fried Carrot cake was delicious and unique. Soft carrot cake center and deep-fried crust on the outside. To die for. Last but not least Spiced Cake with Irish Whiskey Sauce. This desert was delicious, moist, and covered in the gorgeous whiskey sauce. I must have. They also offer a huge selection of Gin and we especially loved the min flights that allow you to try three mini Cocktails. Great to find your favorite. I would rate at $$$ on the expense side but woerth every penny in my view.
