CCPT 2025 Season Event 2 Recap: A Night of Surprises at Mark’s Poker Palace
The CCPT 2025 season Event 2 took place on February 12th, 2025, at the iconic Mark’s Poker Palace, and what a night it was! The atmosphere was electric as seasoned players battled it out, but it was clear from the start that this would not be just another routine game. A few surprises were in store as the leaderboard shifted and rivalries intensified.
The Results: Who Took Home the Points?
In terms of points for the night, it was an interesting mix of consistent performance and one-off bursts of brilliance.
Tony and Luc both took the top spot with 13 points each, making a strong statement as the ones to watch for the rest of the season.
Tony’s journey to 13 points was highlighted by a steady performance, with standout finishes in rounds 3 and 4. His ability to maintain focus under pressure was clearly his edge.
Luc, matching Tony’s performance, displayed resilience throughout, particularly in rounds 1 and 2. Despite a quieter finish in the last two rounds, Luc made sure to secure his place among the top competitors.
Asbell came in just behind with 11 points, showing up big in rounds 1 and 3. He’ll need to work on consistency if he wants to stay at the top, but he’s certainly a contender this season.
Last Year’s Rivals Struggling
Joe and Mark, who were last year’s winner and runner-up, respectively, found themselves struggling to find their rhythm this time around. After a stellar showing in 2024, they had hoped to continue their dominance, but it was clear that the competition was stiffer than ever.
J0e, last season’s runner up, couldn’t make the same magic happen, finishing with just 8 points. With rounds 1 and 2 being his most promising, he’ll need to reassess his strategy for the next event.
Mark, last year’s Champion, also fell short with only 9 points. The former favorite had a decent start, but the middle rounds didn’t go his way, and he couldn’t recover in time to fight for a higher finish.
Money on the Table: 2025 Gross Winnings
Looking at the gross winnings for the year so far, it’s clear that Luc is leading the pack with $190 in total earnings. He’s been playing with a high level of consistency, and his performance at this event solidified his position at the top.
Asbell ($80) and Tony ($65) aren’t far behind, and both are likely to make things difficult for Luc in the coming months.
John ($50), a quieter presence this year, may just be waiting for his moment to surge.
On the other hand, Joe ($30) and Mark ($20) will be eager to break free from their recent slump and get back to their winning ways. The previous season’s success gives them the motivation to bounce back quickly and start climbing those winnings charts.
