CCPT 2025 Season – Event 5 Recap at Tony’s Poker Palace
The Carleton County Poker Tour (CCPT) continued its thrilling 2025 season with Event 5 at Tony’s Poker Palace on April 2nd. With the season heating up, competition was fierce, rivalries intensified, and two returning players—Pete and Allan—shook things up for the first time this year.
The Night’s Standout Performances
At the end of the night, Joe emerged as the top point earner, securing 21 points with a steady performance across all four rounds. Close behind, Mark claimed 20 points, fueled by a strong start with a dominant 9-point win in the first round.
Allan and Pete proved their return was no fluke, finishing tied with 19 points each. Pete’s ability to rack up 9 points in Round 3 was a game-changer, while Allan found success with a bold, risk-taking approach in Round 2, earning 9 points in that stage.
Mid-pack finishes saw John (16 points), Keith (15 points), and Luc (15 points) battling it out for leaderboard position, with Luc holding onto the season’s top spot by a razor-thin margin. Meanwhile, Tony, the host of the night, finished with 13 points, showing resilience despite tough competition. Duane rounded out the standings with 10 points, proving every point is crucial in this season’s tight race.
In terms of cash winnings, Joe led the way again, taking home $75, while Pete and Mark each pocketed $70 for their efforts. Allan managed $50, while Tony and Luc each secured $10. Notably, Keith, Duane, and John walked away empty-handed but remain poised to bounce back at the next event.
Season Standings: A Leaderboard in Flux
The CCPT 2025 season leaderboard is closer than ever, with Luc (7,650 points) barely holding onto his top spot against Joe (7,600 points), who has surged after his Event 5 dominance.
Mark remains right in the mix with 7,550 points, looking to capitalize on any missteps from the leaders. Tony (6,950 points) and Asbell (6,750 points) are still within striking distance of the top three, needing a big push in Event 6 to stay in contention.
John sits with 6,350 points, while Keith (5,900 points) and Duane (5,150 points) continue their steady climb. Meanwhile, Pete and Allan, after their return, are locked at 4,950 points, making them wildcards for upcoming events.
The Shifting Battles and Financial Standings
The season-long financial race has also seen some wild shifts, with Luc leading the net earnings at $85, proving his consistency in both points and winnings. Pete (+$35) and Allan (+$15) made significant gains in their season debuts, while Asbell (+$15) remains one of the most efficient players, balancing entry fees with steady winnings.
Joe and Mark find themselves just under break-even at -$10 and -$5, despite strong finishes in Event 5. Tony (-$20) and John (+$5) remain in the mix financially, while Keith (-$75) and Duane (-$70) will need a major win soon to climb back into positive territory.
