Palate
From Their Website:
“Welcome to the Palate Restaurant and Cafe. One of Fredericton’s best places for casual fine dining. Our food is prepared fresh in an open kitchen atmosphere, where fine dining meets a casual relaxed atmosphere and experience. Opened in 2001, The Palate is a locally owned restaurant located in the heart of Fredericton’s historic Garrison district. The food and beverage offerings are intended to be approachable and affordable with great emphasis on ingredients sourced from local farmers, fisherman and foragers. As well we serve up a rotating variety of locally produced craft beers and ciders.”
My Review
Food was moderate prices at $$. The venue is an open kitchen, and casual dining. The wait staff provided a good service were attentive and took care of our needs. On the food front, we started with some shared appetizers of Bacon Wrapped Scallops, and BamBam Shrimp. The scallops were medium in size with crispy bacon. If anything, maybe a little over cooked but seasoned will and good flavor. The BamBam shrimp had a batter and medium on the spice. Served some a small salad portion under the shrimp. The heat could have been a bit higher but overall good taste. My main was the Korean Barbecue with was a large split chicken breast in a thick batter. Chicken was again and bit over and the flavor was somewhat muted. If I went back again I would probably just do some small plates.
