CCPT 2025 Season – Event 6 Recap & Rivalries Heating Up

The Battle at Joe’s Poker Palace – April 16, 2025

The sixth event of the Carleton County Poker Tour (CCPT) 2025 Season saw high-stakes action at Joe’s Poker Palace, where some of the strongest competitors battled for dominance on the leaderboard. With the season reaching its halfway point, every hand played was crucial, and players knew they had to maximize their points and earnings to stay in contention for the title.

Tyler had a dominant performance, securing 21 points for the night—the highest total. His aggressive strategy paid off as he consistently finished strong across multiple games. Not far behind, Tony put up an impressive 19 points, showing a balanced approach that allowed him to stay competitive throughout the event.

Joe, the host of the night, played solid poker, racking up 13 points—a respectable showing that helped him climb into first place in the season rankings. Duane followed closely with 12 points, showing resilience in later rounds. Al and Mark found themselves tied at 11 points, keeping their positions stable in the chase for the season’s top spots. Keith, while managing to pull 8 points, will need a stronger showing in the upcoming events to regain ground.

Money Talks – Earnings for the Night

Alongside point standings, the cash game results spoke volumes about the players’ ability to capitalize on opportunities. Tyler led the night’s winnings with a solid $100, reinforcing his reputation as one of the season’s toughest contenders. Tony followed with $65, demonstrating his consistent ability to bring in profit.

Joe’s performance added $40 to his season total, while Duane bagged $20 for his efforts. Keith and Mark each managed $10, while Al unfortunately left empty-handed this time.

Season Standings & Rivalries Emerging

As the season progresses, leadership on the CCPT leaderboard continues to shift. The biggest storyline from Event 6 was Joe reclaiming the top spot, marking a triumphant return for last year’s champion. Meanwhile, Luc, the early season leader, was absent, causing him to slip into fourth place—an unexpected turn that puts pressure on him to bounce back.

The ever-changing top spots highlight the fierce competition:

  • Joe steadily climbed from 5th in Event 3 to 1st after Event 6.

  • Mark has made a push from 5th in Event 1 to now sitting in 2nd place.

  • Tony quietly worked his way up the ranks, sitting at 3rd and within striking distance.

With rivalries heating up and six events down,  the gross winnings further tell the season’s financial story.

  • Luc still holds the overall earnings lead with $260, though his absence allowed others to close the gap.

  • Tony ($220) and Joe ($205) are inching closer to overtaking him, proving that consistency and attendance play a big role in staying ahead.

  • Tyler ($130) is making a push up the rankings, fueled by his Event 6 victory.

  • Duane ($20) sits at the bottom, but there’s still time to turn things around.

Net Winnings Shake-Up – Profits vs. Losses

While gross earnings are one thing, net winnings tell a different story:

  • Luc still leads with $85, proving that his ability to win big early kept him ahead.

  • Tyler’s big win this week pushed his net earnings to $60, putting him on the rise.

  • Tony remains just above even at $10, showing careful management of his hands.

  • Joe’s total sits at -$5, indicating that while he’s winning plenty.

  • Keith (-$100) and Duane (-$85) are currently in the deepest hole, needing big performances in upcoming events to recover.

Looking Ahead – The Battle Continues

The next event will be held at Tony’s Poker Palace on May 7th at 6:30 PM, setting the stage for another intense night of poker. Expect Luc to come back hungry after missing Event 6, looking to reclaim his top spot. Meanwhile, Joe’s resurgence adds pressure to the leaderboard, making every hand a crucial one as the season tightens.

One major shift in the CCPT landscape is the departure of Mark, who has been a pillar of consistency throughout the season. Always at the top of the leaderboard and never missing a game, Mark’s presence at the table was one of reliability, strategy, and fierce competition. His move means he won’t be battling weekly, and his absence will undoubtedly change the dynamics of the tour. He will, however, make a grand return for the year-end event, where he’ll have one final chance to shake up the standings and remind everyone why he was always in the mix. Mark will be missed, but the competition must go on—his rivals will be waiting for his comeback!

With rivalries fully ignited and players hungry for dominance, Event 7 promises drama, big bets, and potential shake-ups in the standings. Invitations are on the way—so sharpen your strategies, refine your reads, and be ready for another night of fierce competition!
